Despite this, today I had the lighting on the next movie to talk about: The Last House on the left.
The title is certainly not new to savvy film fans and in fact this is the remake of a film master of horror, Wes Craven, here plays the role of producer (as happened to his other works, an all The Hills Have Eyes ).
admit that initially I was afraid of being in front of the usual remake, tedious and boring beyond all limits, but I had to change my mind: we are dealing with a Mr. remake! It is true that the trio is not afraid of criminals like the original, but the atmosphere tense and the script word for word to reflect the sense of horror and torture that the director wanted to convey in the original film.
The film is not tired, not even a little, and will keep you guessing even if you already know the previous work.
The environments are fantastic and the film is shot with great care and skill: the actors' work is commendable and I must say that the level of the film remains good throughout its duration.
effects certainly do not want and - from a broken nose to the scene of the garbage disposal - the blood flows in rivers, but without disgust, since it is relegated to the most important moments of the film, while remaining soft up to about half.
Much less is soft, however, the general level of violence in the film, regardless of the blood itself. Perhaps it is also the scene of rape in the first half of the film that was not passed the censorship committee here in Italy (even if on this there is much to discuss, because I had disgusted with Antichrist Lars von Trier nevertheless saw the release in our cinemas), but much prefer a good product for the home video than a mediocre little film for the cinema. So be patient and get yourself the DVD, because if you wait to see him on television, you are fresh (although I always hope I am wrong).
The nature of the film is, therefore, on balance, violent. And this can not be discussed because Craven has accustomed us so ... It touches on some of us criticize one of his most important films. If the kind of "master" suits you, then you have a nice load of chills ready for you. Otherwise I'd be very far because it threatens to erode your sense of decency. Of course I always suggest to see, if possible, the original language and also the film's original Craven, if you can.
The Last House on the left was released in the U.S. in March 2009 while the exit for Italy was postponed to August of that year but ... There is a but. The film did not pass the step of the complaint and could not get in the room, accomplices (as well as principals and assassins), the strongest scenes in the film, as mentioned previously. And always telling me: yes, better.
So I suggest you watch it and enjoy it in the dark, alone and quiet ... Thrills guaranteed!
